The productive reuse of a 91-acre site that was formerly the Federal Government’s Naval Industrial Reserve Ordinance Plant, Mission-71 Business Park is a successful “swords to ploughshares” story. Previously the plant was used to manufacture weapons and military devices dating back to the Korean War. After the project is completed, it will be home to more than 1,750 employees. Architectural elements include extensive cornice treatments on the entire perimeter as well as horizontal and vertical articulations and glass to break up the building mass and provide visual interest.
